A former realtor who worked in a ritzy Brisbane suburb is accused of trafficking the drug ice over a period of about four months, a court has heard.

A Moreton Bay ex-realtor formerly employed at an awarded agency in Brisbane’s northside has pleaded guilty to trafficking methamphetamine but disputes the amount she profited from the endeavour.

Bellmere woman Anthea Renee Power, 30, a former agent with Clayfield firm Havig & Jackson, pleaded guilty on April 9 in the Brisbane Supreme Court to six offences.

They included trafficking in methamphetamine, possessing more than 2g of a Schedule 1 dangerous drug, possessing cash obtained from the trafficking of a dangerous drug, possessing property used in the commission of a drug offence and breaching a suspended sentence.

Power was arrested and charged on November 3, 2019, with the period of trafficking occurring since June 27 that year.

Police allege 152 separate transactions conducted by power netted $35,000.

Power was to be sentenced in the Supreme Court on Thursday; however, Power only admitted to receiving about $9000 from her drug trafficking, meaning the sentence was adjourned to allow the prosecution to prepare for a contested sentence.

The court heard Power wished for extra time to locate transaction records and emails from the period proving certain transactions were legitimate, and, if possible, to request the transactors to testify on her behalf as to that legitimacy.

Crown prosecutor Stephanie Gallagher submitted Power’s bail should be revoked in light of the fact Power was first listed for sentence in January this year but fired her lawyers two days prior.

Ms Gallagher told the court Power had four subsequent appearances before the court, most recently the April 9 arraignment, where she had indicated there was a factual dispute, but to date the prosecution had only received one screenshot of an email, handed over by the defence just yesterday, which in fact was from outside the trafficking period.

“She has had ample time in my view, she was notified by the court month ago this needed to be sorted out, these are further delaying tactics in my view,” Ms Gallagher said

“She has pleaded guilty to trafficking methamphetamine while on a District Court suspended sentence for supplying Schedule 1 dangerous drugs.”

The court heard Power had been unable to progress matters due to a “flare-up” of her significant mental health issues.

Justice Ann Lyons granted a final adjournment but warned there would be no more.

“You’ve reached the point you have to address this issue,” she said.

“It’s not going away.

“No-one else is going to give you another adjournment.”

A review date was listed for Friday, with a rescheduled sentence to follow in about six weeks.
