Deception Bay man facing further hearing over 60 drug related offences

A 39-year-old Moreton Bay man who has been charged with more than 60 drug related offences could be back on the streets by tomorrow, despite him fronting court today.

A 39-year-old alleged drug dealer from Deception Bay has been charged with 60 offences – the majority of them relating to trafficking or supplying dangerous drugs.

Andrew Fraser Gabbert, who was arrested and charged on the weekend, briefly appeared in Redcliffe Magistrates Court today.

Gabbert is charged with three trafficking in dangerous drugs charges, 50 counts of supplying dangerous drugs, four possession of a dangerous drug charges as well as possession of drug utensils and property used in connection with the commission of a drug offence.

Police will allege Gabbert trafficked or supplied methylamphetamine, cannabis and GHB between April 8, 2020, and July 17, 2020.

It will be further alleged that Gabbert also had possession of MDMA.

Magistrate Bucknall noted that all charges would proceed on indictment, most likely in the Supreme Court.

He ordered police to compile a brief of evidence and adjourned the matter until September 7 for a committal mention.

Gabbert, who did not have a lawyer present, asked to apply for bail.

But Magistrate Bucknall advised him to first seek legal representation.

The bail application was adjourned until tomorrow and Gabbert was remanded in custody.
