150 jobs at new Bunnings planned for site beside Bruce Highway near Caboolture
A new Bunnings Warehouse is planned for a site north of Brisbane, with the promise it will create about 150 jobs when it opens.

A NEW Bunnings Warehouse could be coming to Caboolture.
Developers have lodged a proposal to build a 14,012 sqm Bunnings in the SunGATE Business Park, what used to be The Big Fish, on Pumicestone Rd.
According to the development application from Eildon Funds Management, the Bunnings alone would create 250 jobs during construction and 150 jobs when it was open.
A McDonalds, Red Rooster, pub, service station and shopping centre have already been approved at the site.
The application said the store, beside the Bruce Highway about 5km north of Caboolture’s CBD, would cater to a series of trade areas which would generate demand for $141m in hardware and related goods in 2022 (domestic and trade).

It argues there would not be an impact on other shopping centres as the “patronage patterns of residents and businesses are already shaped by the extensive presence of Bunnings, hardware, building supplies and related traders in the (local government area).”
A neighbourhood shopping centre was approved for the SunGATE site in 2017, with work due to start in 2020 or 2021 while a McDonald’s is due to open there in mid-2020.
