The details of how a Logan man allegedly stabbed his girlfriend in the vagina with a clawhammer, creating a pool of blood, has been revealed in court after the defendant applied for bail.

Taras Dudarec applied for bail in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on March 28, charged with one count of wounding (domestic violence offence) and breaching bail.

Police allege the 46-year-old Beaudesert man was sitting with his partner at their Mundoolun home on July 22, 2023 when the attack occurred.

In a statement read out to the court by Magistrate Terry Duroux, the alleged victim’s claims were outlined.

“I was drinking at a friends place, he called me a s--t and said I don’t care,” she said in a statement to the court.

“Taras would pinch the back of my arm, pinch my head and push me in the back. He used my hand to push me off the chair, I told Taras he was being a f--khead.

“He then used his hand to grab my jaw, I smacked it off his face and told him to stop doing that.

“He then grabbed my vagina and said “your p---y is mine and it always will be”.

The statement read by Magistrate Duroux then detailed claims of horrific offending that followed the alleged abuse.

“I saw blood seeping through my vagina and was screaming ‘the hammer, the hammer’, worried about how much blood I was losing.”

Police allege Mr Dudarec stabbed the victim in the vagina with a small clawhammer, which created a pool of blood, spotted by witnesses.

Defence lawyer Breannan Callaghan said the alleged offence was not new to the court but the charge had been upgraded to wounding.

“This is not a new offence before the court, it is a new charge before the court and there has been no further offending except for the one breach of bail on March 22,” she said.

“He will be contesting the charge.

“Mr Dudarece can report and meet bail conditions, have no contact with any witnesses and can also reside in Witheren.”

Magistrate Duroux denied bail and said if convicted, the defendant exposed himself to a serious, lengthy custodial order.

Mr Dudarec has been in custody for five months and if convicted, faces a maximum penalty of seven years prison.

A full brief of evidence was ordered, due by May 22 and the matter was adjourned to Beaudesert Magistrates Court on April 23.
