Video posted on social media captured an Ipswich driver’s near-miss collision with a truck at a notoriously, dangerous roundabout.
at 11am on Thursday, March 25, an Ipswich driver entered a roundabout on Centenary Highway, Ripley.
As they began to exit the roundabout a truck on their left could be seen waiting but rather than give way, the truck began to dangerously pull out into the path of the driver.
A collision was luckily avoided but the relatable incident sparked anger online in local community groups.
“The give way rules don’t apply to trucks, according to them the biggest vehicle has right of way especially when they are in a rush,” said one frustrated commenter.
“People also do not use indicators when exiting the roundabouts with dual lanes, which they should,” said another member of the group.
