Regardless of whether they go ahead or not because of the world health crisis, Su’emai has proved to herself and her peers that with hard work, she can achieve.
“As a school captain this year, I want to leave a positive legacy for all of the upcoming Makos (Marsden) teams,’’ Su’emai said. “I also want to demonstrate that students from Marsden and Logan City can achieve great things if we put in the work.’’
The unassuming 17-year-old said she had also adopted the catchcry “no regrets’’ in her final school year.
“This year, my friends and I have this saying, ‘no regrets’ and it honestly influenced all of my goals this year,’’ she said.

Su’emai, who aspires to become an Olympian, is also a proud junior from the Springwood Little Athletics Club.
“Earlier in the year we competed in a competition with past athletes and parents at Springwood and it reminded me of all the awesome memories I made in the past.
“I really enjoyed competing in events and carnivals with my family and I also loved making new friends.
“But without the support of Springwood Sharks, QEII Track Club, Marsden State High School and my family, I wouldn’t have these amazing opportunities.’’
