A father of four who was previously jailed after a major police operation across Queensland and New South Wales, has faced court again for a police getaway attempt.

Randall Victor Boneham, 28, was previously jailed for 15 months for possession of a firearm after being arrested in connection to Queensland and New South Wales police Operation Viking in 2022.

The 2022 bust uncovered $4.5 million in drugs, $165,000 in cash, seven guns and luxury cars across the Gold Coast and northern NSW.

Boneham, from Tweed Heads, was jailed for 15 months in Tweed Heads Court House on September 7, 2022, after pleading guilty to possession of a firearm.

Boneham faced court again, this time in Queensland, on Wednesday, May 17, as he applied for bail on 17 new charges, including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a vehicle and unlawful entry.

Beenleigh Magistrates Court heard that on May 16, police allegedly saw Boneham in a car and approached him.

He allegedly started the car and was told to stop by the officers.

Boneham then allegedly pulled the door shut and locked it, forcing the officers to smash the window open with a baton.

Police allege he then tried to run away but was stopped and brought into custody.

Boneham’s other charges included three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle between January 13, 2021 and February 6, 2021 at Yarrabilba.

He also faced two unlawful use of a motor vehicle charges and a charge of wilful damage for an incident in Woodridge on January 20, 2021.

The court heard Boneham badly severed his finger in a work accident.

Magistrate Mark Howden denied Boneham bail and said he was at risk of offending again.

“These are serious charges,” he said.

“I think him trying to escape police is a significant matter, it shows he is trying to evade police.

“I believe he is an unacceptable risk of reoffending. Bail is refused.”

The matter was listed for a sentence in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on June 23.
