A $250,000 reward and indemnity have been offered to the first person who can help police solve the mystery of how Logan 12-year-old Tiahleigh Palmer met her death.

Marsden State High School student Tiahleigh was last seen outside the school gates on Friday, October 30 last year about 8.20am.

Her body was found by fishermen on the banks of the Pimpama River on November 5.

“People have information on what happened to Tia and we’re hopeful the reward and indemnity might bring people forward,” Supt Hutchinson said.

“There is more than one person who knows what happened to her.

“The reason they might have withheld their information ... it could be fear of the consequences, it could be loyalty.”

Supt Hutchinson said police were “fairly happy” with the murder investigation.

“We’ve had a number of promising inquiries ... there’s been a number of solid leads,” he said.

“Our investigation at this stage still indicates that Tia had a prearranged meeting.”

Supt Hutchinson said to claim the financial reward and indemnity, the person providing the information could not be the person who committed the crime and must be the first person to provide the information to police.

Tiahleigh’s pink backpack and Marsden State High School uniform are still yet to be found.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
