DETECTIVES are examining bones in the case of missing toddler Baden Bond.

The then-22-month-old has not been seen alive since March 23, 2007 and authorities are now treating the case as a homicide.

“We’ve failed to find any signs of existence past that date (March 23, 2007),” Detective Inspector Damien Hansen said.

“We expect to know the results of examinations within the next few months.

Insp. Hansen said Baden, who would now be almost 12 years of age, was in the care of his parents at the time of his disappearance and not the Department of Child Safety or any other alternative care arrangements.

“The family has given a number of different versions. Those versions have been run out (by investigators) but we still can’t locate Baden,” he said.

“All our investigations have proved negative.

“Someone out there must know what happened to this two-year-old boy.

“We ask anyone with knowledge from between March 2007 and August 2007 to come forward to Crime Stoppers.”

Baden’s family moved to New South Wales in August 2007 and his disappearance was only discovered in January 2016 after a NSW magistrate demanded to know where he was.

The parents told the magistrate he had gone to live with relatives in another part of the state.

In March last year, police scoured the back yard of 23 Wagawn St at Woodridge, where the family lived in 2007.

Insp. Hansen said there was no sign of the toddler having been enrolled in any educational facilities or attending any medical appointments.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
