A Logan drug dealer who would meet customers at a local spa to make exchanges was caught out after police spent days monitoring his calls, a court has heard.

Daniel Robert Maric, 22, pleaded guilty in District Court in Beenleigh for three counts of supplying a dangerous drug.

The court heard police identified that he was supplying drugs after they were authorised to intercept his devices in July 2019.

He called a woman and told her that if she wanted “bud”, she’d needed to pay him $10 and then meet him before supplying her with cannabis on August 11, 2019.

He received another call that same day from a person named Locky who asked if his friend could buy “a 20” off Maric, who agreed and arranged for them to meet at a spa to make the exchange.

The court heard the Maric called a man called Benjamin Beard and asked if he needed anything on August 17, 2017.

Beard told him he would come over the following day to get some more “bud,” and Maric agreed to put half of it aside for him.

The court heard Maric had been on parole at the time of the offending and had a concerning criminal history for a man his age, including being convicted for burglary and attempted armed robbery.

The crown prosecutor noted that he had already spent five months in custody for the offences and was also serving a sentence of imprisonment for separate offending that would not expire until November 13, 2022.

He was sentenced to one-month imprisonment for each charge which is to be served concurrently, and he was given an immediate parole eligibility date.
