Furious Eagleby resident reveals abusive note left by anonymous neighbour

A mourning mother has taken to social media to share the latest abusive note an anonymous neighbour had left at her door, causing a divide in the community.

The Eagleby resident shared a note - littered with profanities - her neighbour addressed to her which stated she must “shut up her f**kin’ dogs”.

The woman said her street had 10 other barking dogs residing in 10 properties surrounding hers and told the disgruntled neighbour to “get over it”.

“I will not shut up my guard dog, get over it,” the resident said.

“I deal with barking dogs (in the street) too and I am a shift worker who starts at various times of the day and night.

“Have the guts to come and see us when both cars are parked out the front,” she said.

The woman said this was the third note of a similar nature she had received.

“I know it is the same neighbour as it has the same handwriting as the other two notes,” she said.

The woman said the first note appeared at her door when she arrived home from her daughter’s funeral and she saw the second note after her brother’s funeral.

“Both notes were within 12 months of each other,” she said.

A community group member said the neighbour could have articulated their concerns in a more polite fashion.

“I am sure there is a better way to deal with it but excessive barking could be a problem too, maybe they are also shift workers trying to sleep,” she said.

An Eagleby man said the note was a form of “gutless communication”.

A mother posted to the group: “Do you have just one whingie neighbour as you state the other neighbours don't see a problem?

“Some people will complain about the wind blowing a gentle breeze these days, because they need to get out of their boring houses and enjoy life.”

Another resident said he is forced to endure his neighbour’s dogs continually barking and he empathised with the neighbour.

Another Eagleby resident said she understood the woman’s frustration.

“I love my neighbour’s dogs as they let me know when someone is around, not only protecting their yard but my yard too,” she wrote.

“At the end of the day the note is rude, the right (sic) to do is to say something politely after knocking on the door,” she said.

It comes after The Courier-Mail reported threatening letters left by a neighbour anonymously to a Sherwood woman, criticising her control over her “stupid mongrels”.
