A court has heard how a mum’s late-night visit to Domino’s has turned violent after drunkenly assaulting several young employees in front of her family in an incident her lawyer says she barely remembers.

Kiara Kate Kussrow, 27, appeared in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Wednesday, August 10 and pleaded guilty to four charges: committing public nuisance, common assault, stealing, and wilful damage.

The court heard the Logan mother committed the offences at a Domino’s store “in the middle of the night” in early April while intoxicated and in the presence of her family.

Prosecutor Sergeant Kellie Cullen said the woman grabbed a monitor in the store that displayed people’s orders, stole a 1.25-litre bottle of Pepsi, verbally abused three staff members and “shook” a door as they tried to hold it closed.

Staff later discovered the screen Kussrow grabbed was not working and needed replacement.

The court heard Kussrow had a four-page criminal history, which featured several violent and dishonest offences.

Defence solicitor Sheryn Aspinall-Clarke said her client was extremely intoxicated when she attended Domino’s and committed the offences, having just been at a funeral.

She told the court Kussrow had a difficult life, leaving school in Year 7 and becoming a mother at 14 years of age, working a number of jobs before becoming a full-time parent.

Ms Aspinall-Clarke noted drinking had always been a problem for her, but she had steered clear of both alcohol and cannabis use for two months and was now “on the right path”.

Magistrate Pamela Dowse said the fact Kussrow committed the “unbelievably bad” and “despicable” offences in front of her family made the situation “even more irritating”.

She asked Kussrow what made her think she had the right to inflict the distress she did on the young Domino’s employee victims who were presumably “earning a pittance”.

She told them she likely “tipped their lives upside down”.

Kussrow was ultimately sentenced to six months’ imprisonment with immediate parole. Convictions were recorded.

“You are in a world of pain if I ever see you again,” Ms Dowse told Kussrow.
