The shotgun used in a shocking drive-by shooting at Waterford was discovered hidden beneath a woman’s bed at Chambers Flat, police alleged at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday.

Mother-of-five Kylie Maree Williams, 35, appeared from the watch-house for a bail application hearing.

She faces 11 charges, including supplying dangerous drugs, stealing and possession of a shortened firearm.

According to police prosecutor Sergeant Rochelle Paz Landim, the weapons charge relates to an incident that occurred on Dairy Creek Rd at Waterford on November 8.

The court heard officers received reports of a man shooting a sawn-off shotgun out the window of a gold Holden Vectra at around 7pm.

Kylie Williams was released on bail at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday.

The informant told police he was driving his Ford Ranger along Dairy Creek Rd when he heard one round discharged, and as he came closer to the intersection, saw the driver of the Holden pointing a shotgun towards another car.

In the other car sat the alleged victim, the informant’s brother.

Police alleged the shot caused the man to lose control of his car and crash into the gutter, causing a flat tyre.

His brother stopped to check on him while a police helicopter was called to follow the Holden Vectra.

Polair footage allegedly shows the car driving to a home at Chambers Flat and giving something to a blonde woman, identified as Williams.

A search of the home later revealed the sawn-off shotgun hidden under the bed, police allege.

Williams told police someone came to her house to “give her a hug” and during the hug placed the gun beneath her clothing.

“She didn’t realise until later it was a gun,” said Sgt Paz Landim.

The 28-year-old male driver of the car went on to be charged with evasion, unlawful use of a firearm, wilful damage and being unlawfully at large.

He will appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on April 14.

Williams, who suffers from a significant drug addiction, was released on bail to reside at a home at Beaudesert until her next court appearance on May 11.
