A Logan family has been left homeless after a fire gutted their home early this morning.
At approximately 1.16am emergency services were called to Allanadale Court at Forestdale, when a fire started in the Logan family’s kitchen.
It is understood the fire started in the kitchen because of an unpreventable electrical fault.
The kitchen, a hallway, and other rooms of the house were gutted by the fire.
Emergency services had the blaze under control by 4.30am this morning.
Sadly, the family is without insurance.
The home housed a Logan mother, her two young daughters and a baby. Granny and grandpa lived in the detached flat.
The mother and grandpa attempted to contain the flames before emergency services arrived and consequently suffered smoke inhalation.
Both were transported to hospital, where they are now.
It is understood generous neighbours stepped up and have opened their home to grandma and the three children.
Logan House Fire Support Network was on scene and will be working with the family to help re-home them while the house in unliveable and without electricity.
