The eldest child of a Logan father who died unexpectedly at the weekend has shared a heartbreaking tribute to her dad.
Eleven-year-old Valentina Ogaz, took to social media Sunday to share the touching Father’s Day tribute to 31-year-old Felipe Ogaz — a day she said was extremely difficult for her family.
“We know he tries his best on everything and we are proud of him,” Valentina said.
“We all loved him no matter what and now he is safe, and healthy.
“Love you dad, happy Father’s Day everyone.”
Mr Ogaz’s close-knit family has come together with plans to support the five children after their father’s unexpected death on Saturday, September 3.
His sister, Amelie Ogaz Vilches, started a GoFundMe page to raise money for his funeral.
She said his beautiful children, Valentina, Enrique, 9, Isabella, 4, Indiana, 3, and Marli, 1, were devastated.
“Felipe was loved by all around him and devoted his time to his children and family,” his sister said.
“Felipe was a great friend, father and partner, and his family will live in his honour.
“The Ogaz family is now raising funds to give Felipe’s children the opportunity to say their last goodbyes.”
It is understood Mr Ogaz recently spent some time in custody before working as a removalist.
His sister said he had plans to start a local leather business.
“He was creative, loyal, and he could make anyone laugh and smile,” she said.
“You’d feel so protected and he was so fun to be around.
“We’re all just completely heartbroken … we didn’t see it coming.
“He was a great brother and always looked out for me when I was going through a tough time … he supported his family in any way he could.
“He was also such a giving person … if he had any spare change or could help in any way he wouldn’t hesitate.”
According to the family, Mr Ogaz would be buried in the Logan Village Cemetery in September.
Mr Ogaz’s mother, Maria Nelly Vilches Villagran, said she missed her son dearly.
“You will be forever in my heart and in my thoughts,” she said.
“Your departure has left a deep pain in my heart, and the pain of not having you is indescribable.
“I just hope you are at peace.”
