Residents in a Logan housing estate fear for their pets after a household received a threat from an anonymous person who they believe also left slug bait on their property.
An estate in Logan Village is in turmoil after a resident, who did not want her name used, posted that her adult dog and young puppy were allegedly targeted by an anonymous neighbour.
The neighbour allegedly sent threatening letters and placed poison in her yard, she said.
Her family first received a threatening letter in their mailbox which read: “Shut those ****ing dogs up or I will PLS!!”
“To the person who placed this in my letterbox yesterday,” she posted.
“I am more than happy to have a conversation with you about my dog’s apparent excessive barking.
“Maybe you should have a discussion about the problem before placing such an aggressive note in my letterbox.
“Perhaps you could sign it so I know who to ask what the issue is and find out when this is occurring.
“To my knowledge, my dogs do not bark excessively and they certainly are not barking during the night or in the early hours of the morning.
“Feel free to message me to discuss the problem rather than put threatening anonymous notes in my mailbox.
“Be an adult and make yourself known.”
However, the next day an unknown person threw snail bait over her fence.
It was not known if this was done by the same person who delivered the note in the letterbox.
There were two more alleged baitings, after which one of her dogs became ill and she had to rush it to a vet.
“It appears to be slug (or mouse) bait, based on symptoms,” she posted after the incident.
“The coward has not come forward, perhaps because they also decided that they would throw mouse bait over and under my fence to try and kill my dogs in the most excruciating way possible.
“Thankfully I got the dogs to the vet quickly to make them vomit any ingested poison and am following up with further blood tests.’’
She said one dog did not eat the substance but the other became unwell and was kept overnight at the vet on a drip.
One resident said they had not heard any barking coming from the woman’s home.
“I go for walks daily past your place and the park, I‘ve not once heard dogs barking,” they said.
The dog owner vowed to take legal action if someone was linked to the baiting and the note.
“The police are very interested in all footage captured.”
