A Logan child abuser who touched up his teen sister in a caravan park has faced court, but escaped a prison sentence.
The man, in his 20s, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim, pleaded guilty in Beenleigh District Court on February 6 to one count of indecent treatment (domestic violence offence).
The caught heard that in 2021 the man was living at a caravan park south of Brisbane.
His teen sister was home sick from school and he went over and asked to touch her breasts.
She said yes and he then asked if it felt good.
The victim told her friends about the incident and eventually it was reported to police.
The court heard that on June 25, 2022 police came around to his house and arrested the man.
He had no previous criminal history for similar sex offences but had a history of drug offending.
The defendant’s defence said the victim agreed to the act but was at the age where she legally could not give consent.
They argued a conviction should not be recorded.
Judge John Allen acknowledged the early plea of guilty and genuine remorse from the defendant.
“It was a timely plea of guilty and I’m going to exercise my discretion not to record a conviction,” he said.
The man was sentenced to 12 months probation and no conviction was recorded.
