Police are hunting for a gang of youths who have wreaked havoc south of Brisbane after allegedly being involved in five robberies, including a violent ram raid, in one night this month.
The gang’s crime spree allegedly started at the Gold Coast on June 8 where they stole two vehicles – a black Dodge RAM ute from an address in Nerang and a black BMW 320D from Helensvale.
The hooded thugs then allegedly tried to break into a house in Whiskey Dr at Biggera Waters about 1am on June 9 before driving off to a property in Admiralty Dr at Surfers Paradise, about 2am where police said they left empty-handed.
An hour later, the black Dodge ute was allegedly used in a raid on a newsagent shop at Holmview before being spotted at a raid on a tobacconist in Waterford West.
Dramatic video footage shows the ute being reversed at speed through a perspex window of a tobacconist at Daisy Hill about 3.30am.
It took the driver three attempts to slam through the window to allow accomplices to enter the shop and fill shopping bags with tobacco products including vapes.
The video shows the Dodge ute being driven out of the shop before four hooded youths run in with shopping bags to clear out the tobacco products.
One of the youths trips over and injures his leg on a steel pole left shattered on the floor of the shop after the ram raid.
Police found the burned out Dodge Ram at around 5.30am in Kingston on June 9.
Anyone with footage or information should contact police.
