More than 150 people are expected to take part in a motorcycle funeral procession for 35-year-old Park Ridge man Scotty Kevill who died in a crash at Logan last week.
Mr Kevill was riding a motorcycle that collided with a truck at the corner of Magnesium Drive and Radium St at Crestmead at about 7pm on January 20.
His mum Cathy Kevill described her son as “beautiful” and a man who “would do anything for anyone”.
“He was always helping people, that is why he always had no money, because he gave it to all his friends in need,” Mrs Kevill said.
“He used to text me every night.
“He was very special, we were so proud of him, he is missed like you wouldn’t believe.”
She said Scotty and his older brother had been riding motorbikes before they could walk.
“His motto was ride or die, because he couldn’t imagine not being able to ride a bike,” Mrs Kevill said.
She said she won’t forget the moment she was told about the crash.
“The police said Scott was not in the wrong, nor was the truck driver, it was just one of those terrible things.” Mrs Kevill said.
There is no doubt in Mrs Kevill’s mind that her son would love what the family have planned for his funeral on February 6.
After the service 150 people on motorcycles will take Mr Kevill on his last ride to Mount Cotton Gardens.
His five-year-old nephew Levi will lead the procession through the gardens on his 50cc bike.
“It is the send off he would have wanted,” Mrs Kevill said.
“Scott worshipped the ground Levi walked on, he was so proud of him and his motocross achievements.”
