It comes as Queensland Police release vision of the chase, showing a man alleged to be Mr de la Cruz weaving his allegedly stolen Mitsubishi Pajero through the streets of Shailer Park, despite a police stinger shredding his tyres, before sprinting from the vehicle and jumping between rooftops at 17, 19, 21 and 23 Thistlerow St.

The man then throws his arms in the air when a police dog appears to lead police straight to his unusual hiding spot, before planting himself on his bottom awaiting arrest.

Police say the alleged chase began about 9pm Saturday night in Beenleigh, when a car they allege was stolen by Mr de la Cruz from Shailer Park earlier that evening refused to stop for police.

Mr de la Cruz is alleged to have fired on pursuing officers with a shotgun, which contained three rounds.

All up, Mr de la Cruz was charged with 15 offences: four counts of trespass and one count each of receiving tainted property (registration plates), evading police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle with a prior conviction (on February 27, 2015), acts intended to resist arrest (shooting at police), possessing dangerous goods in a vehicle (the shotgun), dangerous conduct with a weapon, unlawful possession of a Category B weapon, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possessing a dangerous drug (methylamphetamine), unlawfully possessing explosives (three shotgun shells) and driving unlicensed as a repeat offender.

Mr de la Cruz has allegedly never held a licence.

According to his Facebook page, Mr de la Cruz was a past student of Springwood State High School.

Mr de la Cruz’s charges have been adjourned for further mention on November 11.

He has been remanded in custody.
