A carpenter from Eagleby has appeared in court after he repeatedly punched and kicked his girlfriend in the face during a gruesome attack.
Kelly Mose Green, 39, pleaded guilty in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Friday to six charges including assault occasioning bodily harm (domestic violence offence) and common assault.
The court heard Green grabbed his girlfriend’s arm and attempted to force her to leave an address in Woodridge on October 5, 2021.
When she resisted, the 39-year-old punched her with a closed fist multiple times in the face and when she put her head down he kicked her in the face.
Other people at the address intervened and called the ambulance and Green ran away.
Green’s lawyer said his client has struggled with alcohol use and has expressed remorse for his actions.
The court heard Green had also assaulted his female housemate while they were at a tavern in Logan City on October 2, 2019.
During an argument about rent money, he reached out and struck her on the right side of the face.
He was sentenced to nine months imprisonment with an immediate release date and the 123 days he spent in pre-sentence custody was declared time served.
He was also sentenced to complete 12 months probation.
