An accused murderer from Yarrabilba with an “atrocious” criminal history is back in court for supplying meth across Logan.

Joshua Marcus Pope, 30, pleaded guilty in district court in Beenleigh on Wednesday to four counts of supplying dangerous drugs stemming from 2019.

The court heard Pope supplied methamphetamine to people on separate occasions in Eagleby on April 19 and 22 and in Marsden on April 23 and in Stafford on April 25.

The court heard Pope had an “atrocious” criminal history and had been almost continuously in and out of custody since 2009.

He was sentenced for the aggravated charge of supplying a dangerous drug in a correctional centre in the Brisbane Supreme Court in 2017.

The court heard Pope was also currently facing a charge of murder which is listed for mention at a later date.

Pope’s lawyers told the court his client was one of nine siblings who had a father who was in and out of jail during his youth.

His father was released when Pope was 11 and he went to live with him in Melbourne until problems arose and he moved back to Queensland to live with his grandparents.

The court heard Pope was introduced to cannabis at age 12 and later fell into crime.

Judge Jackson said Pope’s criminal history showed he had a serious problem with drugs.

He was sentenced to a period of imprisonment for 586 days, with the 586 days he spent in pre-sentence custody declared as time already served.

He was ordered an immediate parole release date for the offences. Convictions were recorded.
