A group of four men who allegedly stole six cars in Logan on Sunday has been charged and will face court.

Queensland Police recovered six stolen cars from a Logan Village property on Sunday, January 14 and arrested four men.

Jake Thompson, 27, from Woody Point and 40-year-old Inala man Robbie Marino were charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Mr Thompson was also charged with stealing and Mr Marino was charged with fraud.

Lyle Dempsey, 36, from Logan Village was charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and 29-year-old Logan Reserve man Corey Ashford was charged with one count of evade police.

Mr Dempsey was remanded in custody and his matters were adjourned to February 19 in Beenleigh Magistrates Court.

The three co-accused also remain remanded in custody and their matters will be heard at a future date in Beenleigh Magistrates Court.

Police allege PolAir sighted multiple reported stolen cars parked at a Camp Cable Rd, Logan Village address on the weekend.

Following further enquiries, Logan Detectives, assisted by PolAir executed a search warrant at the address and seized the stolen cars.

They were seized for forensic examination and are expected to be returned to owners in the coming weeks.

Officer in Charge of the Logan Criminal Investigation Branch Detective Senior Sergeant Daniel Cunningham said the operation highlighted the work done by the Logan District.

“Police will continue to target property offenders and disrupt, prevent and investigate vehicles stolen in the Logan district,” he said.
