An alleged Hells Angel bikie has been arrested after an alleged group of bikie affiliates descended on a Logan cafe.
The man was charged over an alleged violent attack on teens with a baseball bat, as well as confronting a rival bikie member at the cafe.
Late night on November 24 in Springfield Lakes, Rangitaane Hoani Bishop Ngapo allegedly got into a confrontation with four teenagers aged between 16 and 19.
Allegedly, the 28-year-old Hells Angel member bashed them with a baseball bat and smashed nearby cars.
The Augustine Heights man also allegedly punched the teens.
Beenleigh Magistrates Court heard on December 11 that videos and photographs of the attack showed extremely violent, bloodied injuries to the teens.
On November 4 at a cafe on Distillery Road, Beenleigh, Mr Ngapo and eight other alleged Hells Angel members allegedly attacked a rival bikie.
Police prosecution allege the victim was a member of the “66 Street Crew” and the group attacked him in public.
On a Saturday morning, the nine men allegedly exited three vehicles and targeting a man, while wearing hooded black jumpers and masks.
Police allege Mr Ngapo had distinctive tattoos on his right hand which were captured on camera.
Mr Ngapo was charged with affray, two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm while armed, two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, going armed as to cause fear and two counts of wilful damage.
He applied for bail in Beenleigh Magistrates Court.
Defence lawyer Ngarangi Rangihuna told the court the fight with the teens was provoked as the kids were committing thefts in the area.
“It was not as one-sided as it appears, specifically in relation to the assault and wilful damage,” he said.
“There had been break ins around my client’s area, his wallet had been stolen and items were taken from his partner’s car.
“Mr Ngapo approached the kids and they told him to “f —k off”, a verbal altercation ensued and my client was rushed by all the kids.”
Police prosecutor acting Senior Sergeant Karine Evans said Mr Ngapo was an unacceptable risk to the community and the attack on the teens was unprovoked.
“The defendant has not shown cause and is an unacceptable risk of endangering safety and welfare of members of public,” she said.
“His attack was unprovoked and very violent and it is alleged the defendant used an offensive weapon.”
The court heard Mr Ngapo worked as a concreter and was father to a one-year-old son.
If granted bail, he was willing to report twice a week, surrender his passport and abide by residential conditions.
Magistrate Patrina Clohessy denied bail for Mr Ngapo and the matter will next be mentioned on January 24.
