The principal of a Logan high school has taken action after an ‘all in brawl’ broke out at school pick-up last week and numerous videos of student fights emerged online.

The principal of a Logan high school has spoken out after an ‘all in brawl’ broke out at school pick-up last week and numerous videos of students fighting emerged online.

Last week local police were forced to step up patrols around Flagstone Community College following a fight allegedly involving up to 30 students on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, during school pick-up.

Parents told Quest News that up to five children in Year 9 were expelled because of the ‘all in brawl’.

Additionally, a social media account surfaced showcasing the rising ‘fight club’ trend at the school.

On Friday June 3, 2022, the school’s principal Julie Strong sent a letter to parents and guardians.

“As a school community our priority is on the creation of a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment,” Ms Strong said.

“The school has implemented the Positive Behaviour for Learning Program with four key expectations that drive the creation of our inclusive learning culture. These are: we are learners, we do our best, we respect self and others, and we respect our school.”

She said the Education Queensland was aware of an incident at the school on Wednesday, after school hours.

“The students involved in the incident were not actively attending school that day as a result of previous disciplinary measures.

“School staff intervened promptly and the young persons were escorted off the school property. No staff members were harmed during the incident.”

Ms Strong said the students involved have since been disciplined, however didn’t specify how.

“Students are caregivers with ongoing concerns regarding ongoing bullying or misconduct are strongly encouraged to report these matters to the principal, and where appropriate the QPS (Queensland Police Service),” she said.
