A Logan woman with a “long term drug addiction” has landed in court for the role she played in a daring daylight burglary in Jimboomba while on probation.

Emily Nicole Marie Blanckensee, 29, of Crestmead, pleaded guilty in Beenleigh District Court on Thursday to 12 charges, including wilful damage, receiving tainted property and two counts each of unlawful use of motor vehicle and driving disqualified.

The court heard two male co-accused allegedly picked up Blanckensee in a car to take her to an appointment and told her they would first be stopping at Jimboomba to “take a vehicle that was owed to them” on February 8 last year.

The court heard the trio arrived at an address on Giles Ct at about 12.44pm, and one of the male co-accused allegedly used boltcutters to open the padlock on the front gate.

The court heard the two men approached the home, and one of them used the bolt cutters to cut a padlock on the power box before cutting the power cable to the property.

Blanckensee remained in the car and was told to act as a lookout.

The court heard the two men entered the home, and a short time later, Blanckensee saw police arriving and ran around the side of the house to alert the men inside.

Police intercepted them as they were leaving and arrested all three of them.

The court heard police later did a search of Blanckensee’s property and found a number of items, including a driver’s licence and Medicare card that did not belong to her and a round of ammunition and shotgun shells.

Blanckensee’s lawyer told the court his client had a “long term drug addiction”, particularly when it came to ice and also struggled with depression.

He said she now wanted to “put that behind her” and was looking to get into a live-in drug program.

Judge Craig Chowdhury said her offending was “significantly aggravated” by the fact that Blanckensee committed the offence while she was on parole and bail.

“For someone so young, you’ve got a serious criminal history,” he said.

The court heard she had a nine-page criminal history, including convictions for burglary charges and threatening violence in 2017, and she was convicted for dangerous conduct with a weapon in 2019.

Judge Chowdhury sentenced her to two years probation and two years imprisonment suspended after serving 69 days.

The 69 days she spent in pre-sentence custody declared time served under the sentence. She was also disqualified from driving for two years.
