The 19-year-old Eagleby man was arrested at his home on September 1 after Queensland Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team (JACET) received a report from United States police.
Cooper Bradley Hull faced Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Friday, October 6 charged with possessing child abuse material and using a carriage service to access child abuse material.
Australian Federal Police (AFP) allege Mr Hull was uploading the material to a group chat on a messaging application.
He was allegedly found with two mobile phones containing the child abuse material, which were seized for further forensic examination.
Mr Hull has been granted bail and his bail was enlarged last Friday.
He will next appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on November 3 for mention and faces a maximum penalty of 15 years prison for these offences.
AFP Detective Acting Inspector Tim Murphy said possessing or accessing child abuse material was a serious crime.
“Anyone who views or accesses images of children being abused is contributing to their harm and is perpetuating the cycle of abuse against them,” he said.
“This was not a victimless crime, children should never be commodities to be used for the abhorrent gratification of online child sex offenders.”
