The truth about the cost of living in Australia

A rural town in the Scenic Rim is set to get a brand new childcare centre, with the Council giving it the tick of approval.

The developers from Scenic Rim Rise estate have had approval to build a large childcare centre at the corner of Mt Lindesay Hwy and Gould Hill Rd.

GPS Properties Pty Ltd plan to have the development go ahead on 3ha of cleared land beside the highway, and adjacent to a residential estate.

In the 2016 Census, there were just 1877 people living in Gleneagle, a small town in the Scenic Rim.

Now, the town will be able to boast a centre with the capacity for 99 children.

It is proposed to be open from 6.30am to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday, with 17 staff.

There are approximately 15 childcare centres already in the Scenic Rim, but this will be the first childcare centre in Gleneagle.
