The 25-year-old from Waterford West has been remembered as a loveable larrikin whose strong sense of humour made him many lifelong friends. The livestream of his funeral began at 10.25am.

Many of those were unable to say their final farewells in person due to tough coronavirus restrictions in Queensland, preventing more than 100 people at funerals.

“Wait, no f*cking way. This can’t be true. Zac Jones and I was close. I still remember the skids in his street and the road trip to pick him up from down NSW. We talked all night. He was one nice, caring, funny guy.

“Rest easy up there brother. Spread your wings. Fly high.”

The former Marsden State High student, whose love of motorbikes was on a par with his love of joking around, died when his black Yamaha collided with three cars at the busy Wembley and Kingston Rd intersection on June 21.

Hours earlier he had posted on Snapchat that it was a lovely day for ride.

Eleven people were involved in the incident with one other taken for treatment at Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Kingston Rd was closed in both directions with traffic diversions in place for more than four hours.

Since the tragedy, dozens of friends have left floral tributes at the intersection along with bottles of Mr Jones’s favourite iced coffee.
