A Logan man has been charged with burglary, armed robbery in company, common assault and deprivation of liberty after allegedly terrorising a former sexual partner of his, arriving at her residence with a co-accused in the dead of night, forcing her into a ute at gunpoint and assaulting her.
Logan Village man Anthony William Hall, 29, is also charged with drug offences including possessing dangerous drugs, possessing a drug utensil and possessing anything used in the commission of a crime.
Mr Hall turned himself in to Jimboomba Police yesterday after becoming aware police were wishing to speak with him in connection with the alleged armed robbery, assault and deprivation of liberty at Macdonald Ave, Upper Coomera on January 30.
Defence lawyer John Ide made an application for bail on Mr Hall’s behalf in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Thursday.
The court heard the alleged victim in the matter had a prior sexual relationship with Mr Hall.
Police allege the woman received a phone call from a private number at 12.30am and heard a voice she recognised as Mr Hall’s, telling her to listen, at which point she heard a car horn outside.
The court heard she refused to go outside, but was coaxed out after being told she would have her “door kicked in” if she didn’t comply.
When she went outside, Mr Hall’s co-accused allegedly “grabbed her by the throat”, wrenched her mobile phone from her hands and threw it into a brick wall.
Police allege Mr Hall’s co-accused then pointed a black handgun at her head and told her he would “kill her”.
The court heard the woman then picked up her phone and began walking back to her house, but was “grabbed by her hair and dragged back into the car”.
The woman began “screaming” as the car drove up the road, but after a short way, she was “dragged from the car and onto the road” and the pair drove away, the court heard.
The burglary is alleged to have occurred the day prior on January 29 at Woodbeck St, Beenleigh.
Mr Hall and two co-accused, one of whom is alleged to have also been present due to the later alleged offending of armed robbery, common assault and deprivation of liberty, were allegedly captured on CCTV entering the dwelling.
Police allege the trio, one of whom “appeared” to be carrying a firearm, stole shoes, a television and a lockbox containing $500.
The court heard when police conducted a search warrant at Mr Hall’s residence, they discovered a jumper they claimed was worn by a co-accused, linking Mr Hall to the alleged offence.
Mr Ide told the court his client had no offences of violence on his criminal history.
Magistrate Michael O’Driscoll granted Mr Hall bail on conditions including that he abide by a curfew, wear a GPS tracking device and report twice a week to Jimboomba Police.
His charges will next be mentioned on April 28.
