Abdirahman Aden Warsame, Shirmac Yusuf and Khalid Gedi, in their 20s, charged for $30k fraud

Three men, two of whom were previously charged in relation to a major police operation, have faced a Logan court for a fraud charge totalling more than $30,000.

Two men who were charged in relation to Operation Dagobah, a major police crackdown on alleged violence, and another man, have faced court charged with fraud of more than $30,000.

Abdirahman Aden Warsame, 21, faced Beenleigh Magistrates Court on November 9 for a charge of fraud equal to more than $30,000 and less than $100,000 and one count of money laundering.

Shirmac Yusuf, 21 also faced the Logan court for a charge of fraud to the value of more than $30,000 and less than $100,000.

Another defendant, Khalid Gedi, who was not previously charged in relation to Operation Dagobah, faced Beenleigh Magistrates Court for the same charge of fraud.

The fraud offences allegedly occurred in Kuraby between January 26, 2022 and March 24, 2022.

Warsame’s charge of money laundering allegedly also occurred in Kuraby between December 1, 2021 and July 23, 2022.

All three defendants were represented by barrister Sam Di Carlo who said case conferencing was required before the next court appearance.

“All three are charged with fraud for a similar offence and there will need to be case conferencing before the next mention in January next year,” he said.

“The matter will go summarily on the basis of a plea of guilty.”

Magistrate Patrina Clohessy enlarged the bail for the defendants and the three men are due to appear again in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on January 11.
