Three men have appeared in a Logan court charged in connection with Operation Dagobah, a large-scale Police operation which resulted in 25 search warrants and more than 10 arrests in Brisbane’s south.

Khaliel Naaman, Moustapha Aldawaymi and Khaled Naaman appeared in Beenleigh Magistrates Court earlier today (Friday, August 19).

Mr Aldawaymi, 26, of Brisbane, was charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle and failure to comply with duties of a driver involved in a crash.

Khaliel Naaman, 22, of Calamvale, faced the same charges as well as affray.

Both their matters were adjourned until September 7 and their bail was extended.

Khaled Naaman was charged with contravention of a direction or requirement of police and pleaded guilty.

The court heard that on June 16 police were conducting operations in Calamvale during which the driver of a Ford Ranger was followed by three police cars, one of them an undercover vehicle.

A crash occurred between a Mazda and the Ford Ranger at the intersection of Stockton and Illaweena streets.
The driver of the Ranger drove off after failing to provide information to police.

On June 28, police searched a Logan Central property where they had tracked down Khaled Naaman, 28, the registered owner of the Ford Ranger.

Khaled Naaman, of Berrinba, refused to tell police who was driving his car.

He pleaded guilty today to contravention of direction or requirement of police and was fined $400, with no conviction recorded.

As part of Operation Dagobah, police have executed 25 search warrants and arrested 11 people while investigating alleged public acts of violence and shootings in the South Brisbane and Logan districts.
