Logan Hyperdome: COVID case attended shopping centre, clean under way

A confirmed COVID-19 positive case shopped at Logan Hyperdome, it can be revealed.
In a statement to retailers seen by The Courier-Mail, centre owner QIC Global Real Estate said they were informed by Queensland Health on Monday the positive case attended the centre last Wednesday (August 26).

“Specifically, this individual was at Hyperdome between approximately 3.15-5.45pm and visited (several) stores,” the statement said.
They include:
- Best & Less: approximately 3.15 – 4.03pm.
- Kmart: approximately 4.05 – 4.29pm.
- The Reject Shop: unknown time – 4.55pm.
- Foot Locker: unknown time.
- Platypus Shoes: unknown time.
“We are in the process of undertaking a deep clean and sanitisation of the centre’s key common mall areas and amenities using high-grade disinfectant, and the retailers identified as being visited by this individual are also working with Qld Health to determine the steps they need to take,” the statement continued.
“This may include undertaking additional deep cleaning of their tenancies.
“It can’t be overstated how seriously we take our responsibility in helping keep our community safe and we are doing everything we can to help protect the wellbeing of those that visit and work at the centre.”
It comes as Queensland recorded one new case overnight.
