The charge stems from an alleged altercation at a residence on Edward St, Beaudesert on July 19 about 7pm.
The fight allegedly resulted in facial injuries, including a fractured jaw and cut lip, to Crosbie Edward Goold.
There was a scramble to find an appropriate bail address for Mr Stephan, but it was ultimately determined he could live at Riverview near Ipswich with his aunt.
Mr Stephan was bailed on conditions that he not enter Beaudesert except for when it concerns his court case and that he not interfere with the alleged victim or witnesses.
The court heard this may prove difficult for Mr Stephan, as the witnesses are “all friends” of his.
The charge will be mentioned in Beaudesert Magistrates Court on October 13.
