“There weren’t any passengers on-board as the bus was not in service,” a spokeswoman said.

“There were no entrapments,” she said.

An exclusion zone was established near Long St East and Honour Ave, police said, saying Appel St, Kitchener St and Frank St were also affected. Motorists were advised to avoid the area.

The scene was cleared by 6.10pm, with train services also back up and running.

Residual train delays continued however, with commuters on the Airport, Beenleigh and Gold Coast lines kept waiting up to 30 minutes longer than usual.
