How Australia's national lockdown dramatically changed our drinking habits

A young Logan drink driver’s generosity has sunk her, after she gave a lift to a friend after consuming six shots the night prior and mixed spirits just before leaving.

Flagstone woman Emilie Louise Loibl, 22, pleaded guilty to a single charge of drink driving, which occurred on September 26 this year.

She registered a blood-alcohol content reading of 0.063 per cent.

The court heard she told police she had consumed six shots the night before, stopping at about 10pm, and also drunk “a quarter bottle of mixed spirits” before leaving her friend’s place at Hillcrest.

Loibl told the court she was giving a friend a lift to Mount Gravatt to get their car serviced as she was the only one who “felt okay”.

She was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.
