UNLEASH your inner Willy Wonka as one of Brisbane’s premier chocolatiers hosts an eight-course chocolate degustation featuring the first new chocolate to be discovered in more than 80 years.

Secrets by Basik have teamed with Wooloongabba’s Jack Rabbits Whiskey Bar to host a Ruby Chocolate instalment of their multi-sensory degustation series.

The unique chocolate has a pink colour and a berrylike taste, and is in hot demand around the world since its launch last year by Belgian-Swiss cocoa company Barry Callebaut. It comes from a special ruby bean and was rumoured to have taken more than 10 years to create.

Basik’s founder Krsna Rajalingam will narrate the “one-of-a-kind” eight course degustation, which features wines to match every flavour. The event is the fourth in the series and introduces an ‘Omakase’ concept which Krnsa says will see “guests leave their fate in his hands” as he chooses individual indulgences.

“Being able to paint a visual narrative of flavours sets the bar for a very different culinary experience,” Krnsa said.

“Guests will be tickled pink with the selection on offer and revel in the opportunity to try such a unique flavour.”

Jack Rabbits Whiskey Bar has teamed up to create four alcohol pairings to match the gourmet flavours including wines, whiskeys, rums and even Sambuca.
