A man has been hospitalised with a face laceration after he was allegedly mugged by two men using a “small, sharp object” at a Brisbane southside service station last night.
Police claim a 42-year-old Sunnybank Hills man was standing outside the 7-Eleven Sunnybank Hills service station at the intersection of Compton and Gowan roads about 6.35pm when he was set-upon by two men of caucasian appearance who looked to be in their thirties.

He was allegedly assaulted by the two men, who tried to steal his mobile phone.
“One of the men has allegedly produced a small sharp object and during the altercation the victim has sustained a minor cut to his chin,” Acacia Ridge Police Station OIC Snr Sgt Ian Cameron said.
“The victim was unable to state whether it was from the small sharp object or from a fist.
“Two offenders ran off into the 7-Eleven car park and decamped in a blue vehicle.
“CCTV shows two middle-aged men park their vehicle in the car park and casually walk towards the victim.
“A short time later the two males can be seen walking back to their vehicle before breaking into a run as they were being chased by other occupants from the address.
“The victim was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital for assessment on the minor cut to his chin.
“Other witnesses were not willing to assist police.”
Officers from the Acacia Ridge CIB are investigating.
