NAPLAN 2023: How South Burnett schools performed

Analysis has revealed the best primary and secondary schools for NAPLAN results across the South Burnett. CHECK YOUR SCHOOL

An independent analysis of newly-released 2023 NAPLAN results has revealed the schools which performed the best in the Year 5 and Year 9 tests throughout the South Burnett.

St John’s Lutheran School in Kingaroy was the second best for the region with an average score of 481.4, while Coolabunia State School in Coolabunia was the third best with an average score of 480.4.

The top performing secondary school was St John’s Lutheran School, in Kingaroy, where the average result was 588.6.

St Mary’s Catholic College in Kingaroy was the second best for the region with an average score of 578.4, while Kingaroy State High School was the third best with an average score of 531.6.

To determine how each school performed in 2023, the scores for all five test subjects for the student cohort (Yr 5 or Yr 9) were combined and the average found.

Special schools, schools with fewer than 20 students enrolled, and schools that did not report any results for NAPLAN subjects were excluded from the analysis.

The figures were independently compiled from the Federal Government’s MySchool website.
