A Sunshine Coast primary school says it’s thrilled to be announced as one of the top performing NAPLAN primary schools across the entire state.

An independent analysis of newly-released 2022 NAPLAN results has revealed the schools which performed the best in the Year 5 and Year 9 tests.

Coolum Beach Christian College, in Coolum Beach, had the sixth-highest primary result in Queensland and a higher score than any other school in the Sunshine Coast, scoring an average of 563.0 across the five test subjects.

Coolum Beach Christian College principal Ken McAllister said he was “pleased” with the result and only wished the test was able to also evaluate the hearts of his students.

To determine how each school performed in 2022, the scores for all five test subjects for the student cohort (Yr 5 or Yr 9) were combined and the average found.

Schools with fewer than 20 students enrolled, and schools that did not report any results for NAPLAN subjects were excluded from the analysis.

The figures were independently compiled from the Federal Government’s MySchool website.
