An elite private school will open a new campus in a fast-growing Queensland region, offering education to more than 1000 students.

An 8.7ha parcel of land at Walloon, about 15 minutes west of Ipswich, has been sold by developer ID—Land to Kings Christian College.

The school established its first campus in 1980 at Reedy Creek on the Gold Coast and expanded to Pimpama and Logan Village within the past decade.

Its upcoming campus will deliver an early learning centre and a primary school offering prep to year 3 from January 2026.

It will then expand each year, running the full primary and secondary education until year 12 from 2035 for 1800 students.

The school will deliver specialist learning facilities for music, science, industrial design, performing arts, food technology and sports, with future facilities including a sports field, an indoor sports centre, a resource centre, a library and an auditorium promised.

There will also be a community centre for playgroups, after school care and church activities.

The facilities will be located inside ID_Land’s Dawn Walloon Master Plan area, where more than 1000 houses were proposed.

More than 230 homes have been delivered and settled since 2021, contributing to the fast growing population in the area.

King’s Christian College executive principal Rees Davis said the board was looking for opportunities to build community- focused schools in rapidly growing areas near Brisbane.

“We have found that our type of school has been very popular with young families moving to these fast-developing areas and are looking forward to working with ID_Land to bring our school and community complex to the families of Walloon,” he said.

ID Land general manager Nick Bosco said the company was committed to contribute positively to the border Walloon community.

“We’ve partnered with King’s Christian College not only to deliver a great school for our immediate residents within Dawn, but to continue building and growing the incredible Walloon community which we are proud to be part of,” he said.
