WATCH THE REPLAYS: Brisbane auctions to watch this weekend
It was another huge day of auction action across Brisbane as the River City’s property market continues to pop. WATCH THE DAY’S REPLAYS!
Property
Don't miss out on the headlines from Property. Followed categories will be added to My News.
Our live auction coverage starts in Brisbane’s north where two homes are returning to market after less than two years.
Then we head to Brisbane’s south where three homes are going under the hammer for the first time since being built decades ago. And our feature property of the day is a renovated Queenslander behind wrought iron gates at 73 Barton Rd, Hawthorne, which was last sold in 2016. If that road sounds familiar, it’s because we were there last weekend to see 180 Barton Rd sell for $4m, the richest auction result of the week.

Our auctions will livestream between 9am and 6pm, with replays available soon afterwards, and be sure to follow our Hammer Time auction results blog on the couriermail.com.au homepage to complete our comprehensive coverage of Brisbane’s major auction day.

REPLAY: ‘Untouched gem’ in Norman Park sold for $2.4m
11AM – 16 Dickens St, Norman Park
3 Bed / 1 Bath / 2 Car on 810 sqm
Crossing the river to Brisbane’s inner-east takes us to ‘Cranley’, an untouched gem on the market for the first time in the sought-after Poet’s Corner precinct of Norman Park. As Charles Dickens once wrote: “Change begets change. Nothing propagates so fast.” And developers will be interested in this large block’s low to medium residential zoning to make some changes of their own. But the house itself would make an ideal renovation project, with high pressed ceiling details, breezeways, VJ walls, French doors and timber flooring. Legend has it that Poet’s Corner was named after an English poet who lived on the corner of what is now Thackery and Wordsworth sts in the late 1800s and all streets in the area are named after famous poets. Norman Park’s median house price has increased by 6.5 per cent to $1.272m in the three months to September.

There is an entertainer’s kitchen with a 2.4m long honed Calacatta island bench, a ground floor guest suite, and outdoor retreats with a built-in barbecue and a 17m long sola-heated pool.
