A designer home described as “real estate porn”is expected to push Caloundra’s prestigious property market to new heights.
The award-winning Pelican Waters home on a large canal-front corner block will hit the market without a price in a bid to find out how much deep-pocketed buyers would be willing to pay for it.
Six-time Henzells sales agent of the year Iain Simms said 8 Delisser Pl was the among the best properties he had brought to market.
The owner bought the vacant 1459sq m block with 67m water frontage and a north-easterly aspect in 2017 for $1.2m.
Tim Christopher designed the home and John Mees Homes built it over 16 months.
“This is one of the most jaw droppingly beautiful and interesting properties I have had the pleasure of bringing to market,” Mr Simms said.
The home features a private master suite on the top floor as well as a waterfront office and a resort-style wraparound pool.
Mr Simms said the owner’s family had grown and the home no longer suited their needs.
He expected local, national and international interest in the “ultimate trophy home” that could be fit for a celebrity, as he tossed around a few names.
“It could be one for Gina Rinehart, or the Hemsworths,” he said.
“There’s plenty of people who have made money on the stock market, real estate and bitcoin.”
Mr Simms noted 37 Warne Tce recently sold for $8m and there was also a recent substantial sale at Queen of Colonies Pde, Moffat Beach.
“We’ve had some other properties hit heights that have not been reached in previous markets on the southern Sunshine Coast,” he said.
“We’re in record breaking times.”
The sale will be via an expressions of interest campaign with private inspections offered.
“Who knows where this one will go, it’s a one-of-a-kind-property,” he said.
