The secret developer behind a much-hyped project on the Sunshine Coast, who had some cheeky fun at the expense of its nearby neighbour Noosa, has revealed some new images of the $250 million newcomer.
Called Paloma Paloma, the developer behind the Caloundra project has so far remained a mystery, but those behind the scenes have not been afraid of making some noise.

Earlier this year, huge billboards were erected near Melbourne that simply read “Not Noosa …” and included the website for the development.
The signs were in similar shades to the colours used to paint an entire block of buildings where Paloma Paloma will be built on Caloundra’s main street.
Now the Sunday Mail can reveal some exclusive renders of the much-anticipated residential, commercial and hotel precinct, which promises to “the best residential and lifestyle offering on the market”.
Paloma Paloma will occupy a 5000sq m site fronting three streets at the top end of Bulcock Street, with the life and beaches of Caloundra on its doorstep.
It will consist of 74 skyhomes, with the project to be officially launched to the market within days.
They will be made up of two and three bedroom apartments, each with a private balcony and onsen bath, and four penthouses, each featuring a private balcony jacuzzi.
“Paloma Paloma will take Caloundra to the next level of sophistication and design,” Colliers director Daniel Hirst said.
“The residential experience is shifted up a notch with exclusive access to residents’ amenities including a pool deck, private formal and informal dining rooms, concierge lobby and access to a suite of extraordinary additional services from the hotel and it’s boutique tenancies.
“The four exclusive penthouses feature generous entertaining balconies, private balcony jacuzzis, light in every bathroom, luxurious kitchens and spacious living areas.
“These signature residences are the pinnacle of Paloma Paloma, completing an extraordinary suite of properties that must be seen to be believed.”
While the price tag has yet to be revealed, the Sunshine Coast in general has seen extraordinary growth during the pandemic property boom, with the median value for houses and units in Caloundra soaring over the past 12 months, up 43.6 per cent and 34.4 per cent respectively.
Beyond the residential component, the development will also include a boutique 138 room five-star hotel, a business and function centre, a members only health and wellness spa and gymnasium, a concierge and residential lobby, private spa and steam facilities, a private pool deck, private formal dining and access to an exclusive suite of hotel and hospitality services.
