A popular Sunshine Coast McDonald’s location is getting a $1.9m upgrade to provide a brand new makeover for customers to enjoy.
McDonald’s Minyama has announced the renovation to open a new terrace, dining room, dedicated partner delivery room and a newly-positioned front counter and McCafe.
Licensee Tim Banks said the new renovations would “rejuvenate the customer experiences” and improve operations.
Mr Banks said he was excited to meet some new faces upon completion.
“Reinvestment is an important part of our ongoing commitment to providing customers with the best possible experience when they visit our restaurants,” he said.
“It also allows us to create new jobs for members of the local community, through expanding our operational capabilities to allow us to provide quicker and more efficient service for our customers.”
Mr Banks, who also has restaurants in Caloundra, Currimundi and Glass House Mountains, introduced several changes to the Minyama location when he became licensee in 2021 by providing new equipment and fostering the crew’s professional development.
“I am always looking for ways to improve my restaurants and welcome feedback from customers,” he said.
He currently employs 570 team members on the Sunshine Coast and will create 60 jobs for construction workers.
One of his favourite memories of the restaurant involved then restaurant manager Mitchell Heath receiving the Ray Kroc Award at the McDonald’s Worldwide Convention 2024, recognising the top one per cent of managers globally.
McDonald’s Minyama will remain open while renovations are completed.
“We appreciate our customers’ patience over the coming months and look forward to welcoming them to the newly refurbished McDonald’s Minyama, serving up our great quality, great tasting menu,” Mr Banks said.
The restaurant, which opened in 2008, initially received more than 300 submissions against it, but has since become a popular 24-hour site.
