Sunshine Coast mansion breaks Queensland record, sells for $34 million

A Sunshine Coast real estate agent says more records will tumble after a Nambour home broke into the million-dollar club for the first time.

Remax Property Sales Sunshine Coast principal Tristan Brown this week sold 9 Pearl Parade, Nambour, in a transaction worth more than $1.1m.

Mr Brown claimed the sale as a record for the suburb and said it was the first time a house had sold for more than $1m in Nambour.

The latest CoreLogic property data for the year to June 2021 showed Nambour had a median house value price of $533,493.

Mr Brown said the interest for the four-bedroom home came from far and wide with 10 offers, eight of those being for more than $1m.

He described the sale as a “watershed” moment for the suburb.

“Now that someone has acknowledged the million-dollar bracket the floodgates will open, I expect to see several more million-dollar sales in the next 12 months,” Mr Brown said.

“I thought we might get one offer at more than $1m, but eight is insane.”

The home came with “phenomenal” eastern views across Bli Bli and sat on a 918sq m block.

Mr Brown said the offers had come from Sunshine Coast residents, Sydney, Melbourne and New Zealand, before it sold to a Brisbane buyer.

He said the “ecstatic” sellers were relocating to North Queensland after settlement.

“The timing was right and with the market so buoyant it all fell into place,” he said.

Mr Brown said the Pearl Parade sale was the third record-breaking sale for the Nambour region in the past six weeks.

He was also in charge of the sale of 7 St James Court, Nambour Heights, which sold in August for $915,000.
