STOYAN Kiceec, a Sydney developer, has revealed last week’s $19m purchase of a beachfront Surfers Paradise tower site was a case of ‘site’ unseen.
He and partners made a last-minute decision to try for the ageing Anglesea Court property and had to meet a 24-hour deadline to head off others. Stoyan had run figures on the property but never visited it and quickly signed a winning short-term cash contract.
bought a golf course!
ANDREW Hindmarsh, a passionate golfer with a nightclub and hotels background, has spent $3.6m buying his own course – Tallai Country Club.
The Hindmarsh camp is staying mum over plans for the 8ha property, with pokies and a restaurant, once mooted as a site for a hotel with a wine focus. Andrew announced the buy of the nine-hole property on Twitter, saying: ‘Bought a golf course today!’
sights on strip tower
THE Chateau, a near 50-year-old tower overlooking the ocean in Surfers Paradise, is believed to be in sights of parties keen to cash in on its 4047sq m site.
The value of the 19-floor building’s site, on the corner of The Esplanade and View Ave, has been highlighted by prices being paid for Surfers development land.
They include $75m paid by high-rise king Harry Triguboff for 4423sq m at the Esplanade’s northern end.
