“The first time I met Shane was at a party with my dad, a cricket enthusiast, who intentionally positioned himself at the bar next to Shane.
To my surprise, Shane generously devoted a significant amount of time to discussing the sport with my dad, and they stayed in touch for many years.
This is who Shane was — a person willing to invest hours into making others feel special. His legacy is characterised by the kindness he showed through ensuring people felt seen and valued.
In the wake of his sudden passing, his legacy gains new significance.
I see it as an extraordinary endeavour, and Shane would take pride in knowing that he continues to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
I was lucky enough to witness the extraordinary human being he was, and the legacy he leaves transcends cricket – the more time passes the more we realise what a genuinely unique person he was. There will never be another one like him. Much love.”

I know nothing about cricket, so when I first met Shane I had no idea who he was or what he did.
Shane absolutely loved that. He could just be himself around me, because I was not ‘bowled over’ by his incredible cricketing talent.
I was, however, bowled over by him as a person.
We had a friendship that spanned continents and decades.
Friendship and family meant everything to him and that is where our friendship was cemented.
We were always there for each other, often talking on the phone, laughing and navigating life’s ups and downs.
Shane loved making people smile and seeing them shine. He had a way of making each person feel so special.
When he walked in a room it was like pure sunshine. He was to me, Mr Sunshine.
Shane nicknamed me Disco, and I loved hearing him scream it out whenever he saw me.
Whenever I asked Shane for anything, he was there; “Whatever you need, Disco”.
He would put his name, time and team in to help.
I’ve had the privilege of connecting with his team on many projects, and know they will carry his legacy precisely as he envisioned.

commitment to preserving Shane’s memory and making a meaningful impact in
the community through Shane’s Legacy.
Shane lived an extraordinary life marked by achievements, compassion, and an

We are embarking on an inspiring journey with various initiatives, collectively
known as the “Shane Warne Legacy Test Match Series.”
Each initiative the Legacy undertakes serves as a new test in our ongoing series and will embody Shane’s pursuit of excellence and his dedication to having a positive impact on society.
Beyond the preservation of Shane’s memory, our mission extends to raising
awareness and funds for selected charities and contributing to causes that
genuinely bring about tangible change.
In doing so, we continue the legacy of a man whose influence transcended
boundaries of race, religion, and social standing, working to save lives both in
