Influencer and former AFL WAG Rebecca Judd has slammed Premier Jacinta Allan over the timing of her decision to review Victoria’s bail laws.

The Herald Sun on Tuesday revealed that Ms Allan had confessed bail laws were too soft and ordered Attorney-General Sonya Kilkenny and Police Minister Anthony Carbines to review the system.

The Brighton crime crusader shared an Instagram story with a screenshot of the Herald Sun’s exclusive report. It included a scathing caption accusing Ms Allan of only acting now her Premier title was in doubt.

“When you realise you’re going to lose the election over out-of-control crime you finally decide to ‘care’,” Judd wrote on her story.

Ms Allan’s concession came just days ahead of two by-elections — in Werribee and Prahran.

The screenshot shared by Judd to her 755,000 followers showed Ms Allan’s comments that Victorian laws “need to go even further” as “too many Victorians … don’t feel safe”.

It’s been nearly three years since the former AFL WAG first took to social media to draw attention to escalating crime rates in her affluent suburb saying she felt “unsafe” in her home, before former premier Daniel Andrews hit back at her claims and said he was “not interested in having an argument” and that “the data (would) tell a different story”.

The Herald Sun reported in December that children aged between 10 and 17 were offending at the highest rate since 2009.

Since 2022, Judd has used her platform to demand action over the escalating crisis in the Bayside area, sharing footage of alleged offenders being arrested and slamming Ms Allan as “the Premier who made Victoria unsafe”.

Most recently in the Bayside area, the mayor fell victim to an attempted aggravated burglary and demanded an urgent meeting with the Allan government to address safety concerns in the area.

Bec Judd lives in a $7.3m Brighton mansion with her husband, former AFL footballer Chris Judd, and their four young children.
