For those wanting to snap up a rare piece of North Queensland Cowboys memorabilia or wanting to get a special gift for a diehard fan, the Cowboys Community Foundation’s 2024 Christmas Auction has you covered.

A throwback to the days of 1300 SMILES Stadium, vintage locker doors from the old locker room signed by players including Coen Hess, Reuben Cotter, Scott Drinkwater, Jordan McLean, Jake Clifford and Valentine Holmes are up for grabs.

Proceeds from the auction will go towards the Cowboys Community Foundation, which provides programs and initiatives such as NRL Cowboys House and aims to improve the lives of individuals through education, training and employment.

This is the first time memorabilia of this kind from the former stadium is available, with veteran player Coen Hess saying the locker doors bring back fond memories.

“I’ve been at the Cowboys since I was 16, so I’ve spent pretty much half my life there,” he said.

He said being given a locker was a significant milestone in his footy career and seeing it again to sign and auction off to a lucky bidder brought back memories of “an important stage in the history and the growth of the club.”

Along with the locker doors, special memorabilia is also available for Jake Granville and Kyle Feldt as they depart the club, including a pair of Feldt’s signed boots and a poster signed by Granville.

2024 jerseys signed by both the NRL and NRLW teams are also available, including the 2024 Cowboys Defence Jersey and the NRLW Women in League jersey.

With next year marking the 30th anniversary of the Cowboys Community Foundation, chief executive officer Fiona Pelling said it was special to share pieces of the club’s history with the community.

“Together, we have shared the ups and downs, important milestones and created powerful memories, including many at out former home ground,” she said.

“We’re so happy to be releasing the first of these special items, and we know there are some passionate collectors out there to snap these up while also raising funds to help us continue our life-changing community.”
